ABOUT
I am a filmmaker, photographer and storyteller based in Regina, Saskatchewan. With close to a decade of experience in Canada’s media industry, I have worked with national television networks and publications including the National Geographic Society, National Post, CBC's The Nature of Things and CTV News. I have also had the privilege of working with organizations including the Canadian Space Agency, the Government of Northwest Territories as well as Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada on video and photography projects. I am currently a Trebek Initiative grantee and am producing a short film focused on the importance of Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit in Arctic research.
As the Supervising News Producer at the Arctic Research Foundation, I spend several weeks of the year in Arctic Canada telling stories from science research vessels and Arctic communities across Northern Canada. I work with researchers, non-profits, and local knowledge holders to produce visual and written stories.
Throughout my career, I have held both editorial and production-based positions including producer, director, videographer and editor. I most recently worked as the supervising news producer at CTV Winnipeg, producing Manitoba’s top evening news broadcast.
As a production manager at Zoot Pictures, I worked alongside producers and directors on several nationally broadcasted documentary projects including a one-hour documentary for CBC’s 'The Nature of Things,’ titled ‘Something in the Air.’
In 2017, I directed four episodes of the award-winning community-based series, ‘Why I Love,’ in partnership with Telus and Spotlight Productions. The series takes a deeper look at some of the awe-inspiring people and communities across Western Canada.
After being awarded the Kay Robins Travelling Scholarship in 2015, I produced ‘One Family,’ a two-part mini-series on the aftermath of HIV/AIDS in Swaziland. The series focuses on one family’s resilience after losing ten family members to the disease. The project aired on CTV stations across Saskatchewan and was nominated for the Prairie Region RTNA awards.
Other films include ‘The Last Cowboy,’ a look at the disappearing Prairie Farm Rehabilitation Administration in Saskatchewan. I also worked as a co-director and camera operator on ‘Officer 332’, a documentary focused on Larry Hartwig, one of the former Saskatoon police officers found responsible for the death of Neil Stonechild. ‘Officer 332’ was later nominated for Best Student Production at the 2016 Yorkton Film Festival.
